Est. 2015 · Carbon Heritage
FROM THE WORKSHOP TO THE WORLD.
Twenty years of carbon fiber mastery. One obsession: the perfect pedal stroke.
The Beginning
BORN FROM CARBON FIBER.
In 2015, a small team of engineers with roots in Olympic speed skating began applying their carbon fiber knowledge to a new challenge: the cycling shoe.
Their insight was simple but radical — a shoe is not a container for a foot. It is a power transmission device. Every gram saved, every millimeter of stiffness gained, translates directly into watts at the pedal.
That obsession has never changed. It has only deepened.
The Craft
BUILT BY HAND. LAYER BY LAYER.
Every Zuatu shoe is handcrafted in our own factory — not assembled from outsourced components, but built from the ground up by specialists who have spent years mastering a single discipline.
The carbon fiber is laid by hand. The heat-mold is calibrated by hand. The closure system is tested by hand. This is not a production line. It is a workshop.
"We are carbon specialists. Craftsmanship is not a marketing word for us — it is a job description."
The Fit
128,000 FEET. ONE PERFECT FIT.
Fit is not a feature. It is the foundation. A shoe that does not fit correctly wastes energy, causes injury, and ends rides early.
We engineered our last from 128,000 foot scans — the largest dataset of its kind in cycling footwear. The result: three widths (Narrow, Standard, Wide) that cover 93.3% of all foot shapes, in sizes 35 through 49 including every half-size.
No rider is left behind.
The World Stage
TOUR DE FRANCE. GIRO. VUELTA.
The ultimate test of any cycling shoe is not a laboratory — it is the peloton. At the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia, and the Vuelta a España, there is no margin for equipment failure.
Zuatu shoes have been worn at all three Grand Tours. By riders like Domen Novak of UAE Team Emirates-XRG and Luka Mezgec of Jayco AlUla — athletes who choose their equipment not for sponsorship, but for performance.
Eight WorldTour teams. Every major race. One shoe.
Our Journey
TWENTY YEARS IN THE MAKING
Founded
A team of carbon-fiber engineers with roots in elite speed skating begins developing performance footwear in its own workshop — laying the foundation for what would later become Zuatu.
Winter Olympics
Years of technical development and experience in carbon footwear are validated at the highest level of sport, confirming the precision, fit, and performance standards behind the brand’s future direction.
Zuatu idea is born
The first full-carbon road cycling shoe leaves the workshop. Built for uncompromising stiffness, low weight, and heat-moldable precision, it marks the beginning of Zuatu’s cycling chapter.
First shoes in retail shop (Shanghai & Slovenia)
Zuatu enters retail for the first time, bringing its premium cycling shoes to riders in Shanghai and Slovenia and taking the first real step from workshop innovation to market presence.
128,000 Foot Scans
Zuatu’s growing foot-scan database reaches 128,000 entries, helping shape a fit philosophy built around real rider anatomy and supporting the development of multiple width options.
First Grand Tour
Zuatu reaches a major milestone as its shoes appear at Grand Tour level, worn by elite riders including Luka Mezgec and Domen Novak — proof that handcrafted performance belongs on cycling’s biggest stage.
First Zuatu flagship store
Twenty years after the journey began, Zuatu opens its first flagship store — a space that brings together craftsmanship, technology, and a growing global community of performance riders.
Gravel Expansion
Zuatu expands beyond road with the launch of its Gravel model, combining a carbon sole, Vibram outsole, and off-road-ready construction to deliver the Zuatu ride feel on any terrain.
Life is not a gift. It is a structure you reconstruct — step by step — from beneath your feet.
More than a cycling shoe — this is a manifesto for your feet. Every pair of Zuatu is engineered to activate the primal inner drive that turns effort into motion, and motion into victory.
EXPLORE OUR SHOES →What We Stand For
THREE COMMITMENTS. ZERO COMPROMISES.
Every decision we make — from material selection to closure design — is guided by three principles that have defined Zuatu since 2003.
Handmade Precision
Every Zuatu shoe is built by hand in our own factory. Not assembled — built. From the first layer of carbon fiber to the final calibration of the closure dial, every step is performed by a specialist who has mastered their craft over years, not weeks.
Professional Validation
We do not design shoes for the catalogue — we design them for the peloton. Eight UCI WorldTour teams, three Grand Tours, and riders like Domen Novak and Luka Mezgec are the ultimate test of every design decision we make.
Relentless Innovation
From our origins in speed skating carbon fiber to the 128,000-foot-scan fit system and heat-moldable sole technology — we have never stopped engineering. Every new Zuatu model is a response to what the peloton demands next.
